On October 5, Financial and Administrative Services (FAS) portfolio leadership hosted a launch event for the UT Works Program, a new set of software tools and business processes focused on enabling the university to improve the management of physical spaces, improve the delivery of mission-critical services, and streamline workflows.
Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Darrell Bazzell opened the event and reiterated the strategic importance of the program. Read more about the strategic importance of the UT Works Program in Senior Vice President and CFO Darrell Bazzell’s September 12, 2022, email to employees.
Program sponsor Associate Vice President for Facilities Planning and Management (FPM) David Darling presented on how UT Works fits into the Place pillar of the university’s 10-year strategic plan, Change Starts Here. Dan Cook, Executive Director and Deputy to the AVP for FPM, and Heather Hanna, Executive Director for Enterprise Business IT Solutions (eBITS), explained the program goals, guiding principles, and program structure, including program governance structure. Mark Jacaman, Director of Enterprise Campus Support with eBITS, presented plans for the program’s communications, people engagement, training, and user support. He also explained how people within and outside the FAS portfolio would be involved in the program.
After the formal presentation, attendees could view product demos from AssetWorks, the integrated workplace management system that will power UT Works, and ask questions at kiosks.
