To date, over 400 members of staff across units involved in the UT Works Program have had the opportunity to take part in UT Works demo sessions since they began back in February. These sessions have ranged from small in-person meetings with individual shops to a virtual town hall held for all Utilities & Energy Management (UEM) staff. With more demo sessions being scheduled, the number of folks getting their first look at UT Works will continue going up this summer.
Demo sessions focus on introducing frontline teams to the Go Mobile applications, including Work Management, Asset Management, and Time Management. These sessions provide participants with a taste of what their day-to-day activities in UT Works will look like while sharing some of the benefits of the new system. UT Works Program team members are working with subject matter experts within each unit to tailor demonstrations to each unit's specific business needs and interests.
Demonstrations of the Go Mobile applications highlight the benefits of going paperless and the increased access to information that mobile devices allow while giving a realistic view of what working with the new system will be like. Demos show future users how the app allows them to:
- access daily assignments and determine the sequencing and prioritization of tasks.
- review work order details, including location, requestor, notes, and photos.
- add notes to tickets, record time worked and update ticket status.
- create notes using the talk-to-text feature and attach photos.
To make demos more relevant to participants in each session, work activities demonstrated vary by unit and have included performing routine maintenance, responding to an emergency request, completing an inspection, and fulfilling a pick ticket in Central Stores.
The sessions prepare staff for training and provide opportunities for staff to engage directly with the program team.
