This spring saw the kick-off of work on the Capital Planning and Project Management (CPPM) module. The CPPM module enables the management of project lifecycles, from receiving a capital request through design, construction, closeout, and turnover. CPPM will support the standardization of project processes across participating units and improve financial reporting.
The first round of design sessions began in April and will run until late June, with plans for a second round of design sessions to take place from late July through August. The sessions allow participants from multiple units the opportunity to exchange ideas and best practices with other units and to collaboratively determine how the CPPM module will work to serve the needs of users across multiple units while meeting the University’s strategic goals.
Units participating in CPPM design sessions include Campus Planning, Campus Construction, Facilities Services, Residential Facilities, Utilities & Energy Management (UEM), Business & Financial Services (BFS), Procurement & Payment Services PPS), Accounting & Financial Management (AFM), and Enterprise Business IT Solutions (eBITS).
Following the conclusion of the design sessions, the participating units will review and approve the CPPM design session recommendations before the UT Works Program moves forward with prototyping and, eventually, design confirmation, which are tentatively scheduled for Fall 2023.
