The UT Works Program passed an important milestone when the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Design Sessions concluded at the end of March.
Design Sessions provided an opportunity for members of the Core Design Team to gather and address specific topics through brainstorming, collaboration, and sharing of best practices as part of the O&M design process.
The first round of O&M Design Sessions took place in November and December to begin the process of determining how the UT Works Program will improve upon current business processes. The Core Design Team for this series of design sessions included representatives of Facilities Planning and Management (FPM), Enterprise Business IT Solutions (eBITS), Utilities and Energy Management (UEM), Technology Resources (TRecs), and Business Financial Services (BFS).
Recommendation documents from the first round of O&M design sessions were then reviewed and validated by representatives in the participating units.
A second round of Design Sessions convened in February and concluded on March 30. For this series, the core design team included members of the new Business Strategies and Operations (BSO) unit and University Housing (UHD), which joined the UT Works Program in January.
With the successful conclusion of the O&M design sessions, the UT Works Program will begin the process of design confirmation in April. The first design sessions for the Capital Planning and Project Management (CPPM) are scheduled to begin later this spring.
