Demo Sessions Introduce Teams to UT Works

To date, over 400 members of staff across units involved in the UT Works Program have had the opportunity to take part in UT Works demo sessions since they began back in February. These sessions have ranged from small in-person meetings with individual shops to a virtual town hall held for all Utilities & Energy Management (UEM) staff. With more demo sessions being scheduled, the number of folks getting their first look at UT Works will continue going up this summer.

UT Works Phase 1 Update — Testing Ensures a Successful Launch

Over the past ten weeks, the Unit Testing of UT Works modules achieved an important milestone by ensuring all the parts of the Operations & Maintenance (O&M), Capital Planning and Project Management (CPPM), Go Mobile modules, and their related components perform as expected before End-to-End (E2E) testing can begin. The inclusion of teams from each involved in the UT Works Program was critical in completing testing. These participants completed over 70 different test scenarios during the unit testing period, providing valuable feedback to the implementation team.

Capital Planning and Project Management (CPPM) Module Update

This spring saw the kick-off of work on the Capital Planning and Project Management (CPPM) module. The first round of design sessions began in April and will run until late June.

With O&M Design Sessions–Round 1 Complete, Round 2 Set to Start in February

Completed in December, the first round of Operations and Maintenance (O&M) design sessions produced the first recommendation documents for review and validation by representatives in the participating units. Design sessions provide a forum for exchanging ideas and best practices as participants work together to determine how the UT Works program will improve business processes by leveraging the functionality of the technical system.

UT Works Design Sessions Kick Off in November

The Design Phase of the UT Works program is kicking off in November with preliminary design sessions with “The Core Design Team,” representatives from Facilities Planning and Management (FPM), Enterprise Business IT Solutions (eBITS), Utilities and Energy Management (UEM), Technology Resources (TRecs), and Business Financial Services (BFS). The Core Design Team will be responsible for making configuration and process decisions with the goal of a “one business process for one business need,” a core tenant of the UT Works program. The Core Design Team was selected by the UT Program Oversight Committee.
